Confession: I am a lazy, lazy bum. I may look, smell, and dress like a college student with friends and events and Things to Do, but in all actuality, I am bum. I have been talking to my college friends and they all have great “What I did over break” stories. I on the other hand, if asked to write a 100-word essay on what I did with my winter vacation, ala archetypal grade school, it would read something like this:
This winter break I did not do anything. Sometimes, I got out of bed, and, even more rarely, I got dressed. On those special, special days, I did fun activities like sit at work and color pictures while ignoring small children, relocate to the couch and watch three hours of How I Met Your Mother, and skim hundred of blog entries. Occasionally, I would go out side, see the sun, and then promptly return to my hideyhole of darkness and sleep. That is what I did over my vacation. The end.
In reality, I am pretty sure I have done more than this, but my brain has been fried by the flannel pajama pants, warm oatmeal and soft glow of my laptop that has occupied me for the last few days, and I just can’t remember.
Well, the blankets of the couch and three hours of toddlers and tiaras are calling to me, and I suppose I might right another entry someday.

First of all, I would like everyone to know that occasionally in the last 9 months, I have thought about this blog, but I just never could remember how to log on. But, luckily for all (one) of you, I just got an email that I have bought the hosting for this domain name for another year. I thought I might as well use it for something, and I had a stroke of brillance and remembered my password.
I originally wanted to do a fashion blog here, with lots of awkward posed pictures, and lots of super cute clothes. And that still might happen, but, in reality, I am in college, and I have gotten super lazy. Right now, I am wearing jeans, moccasins, an under armor teeshirt, and a real nice oversized sweater. But that might have something to do with the fact that I woke up 45 minutes before my class started, and there is currently not a single drop of water in my dorm. I only got half of a shower, and I had to brush my teeth with a water bottle this morning. College is more like a camping trip than one would expect.
But in other news, I am supposed to be standing up and going to class. So, I should probably do that.
Well, I am back from class now, typing away as I avoid doing homework. But anyway, I hope to use this here blog as a way for people to stalk me, contine to be amazed by my enlightened thoughts, and keep up with my collegite adventures.
So, look forward to that, and so many pointless ramblings like this…

Just when everyone was convinced that spring was here, winter struck again.
I spent my day in bed, looking at pictures from fashion week, catching up on my 800 google reader posts that I had yet to read, and stalking people on facebook.
I wore sweat pants all day, and my skin is being terrible; there were no pictures taken today.
But here is a picture of my dog and my neighbor’s cat:

So, this weekend was my final show as a member of the Stage Crew of my school. Over the last four years, Stage Crew has provided me stressful tech weeks, wonderful friends, and too many paint-stained pairs of jeans. I know the auditorium of my school inside and out, and saying goodbye to its terrible acoustics, lack of work lights, and oddly clashing blue color scheme wasn’t as hard as I expected, but it was still emotional.
Because it was my last show, and I sit up in the tech booth where no one can really see me, I felt free to expand on the traditional all black, purely functional uniform by adding in my favorite black and white skirt and these fantastic boots that I found at the Ross for 5 dollars.
Meet Max, my charming brother. Look how cute he is. And how unwilling he is to be in these pictures.
And this photos is here only to show everyone how gosh darn red my hair is. I redyed it last weekend, and it is a bit redder than I expected, but I like it.
Tank top: Target
Sweater: Old navy
Skirt: Forever 21
Tights: Target
Shoes: Ross

As you may have noticed, I have failed my 28×28 challenge. Instead of listing excuses, because that will make me sound lame, I am going to make a nice list of reasons why I suck. I failed the challenge:
1. My clothes were all to similar, and I was getting bored of the dusty green and black with accents of pink color scheme.
2. I picked to many dresses and not enough shirts and skirts. I am not a big fan of skirts, but they are much easier to remix than a dress that has a very distinct shape and pattern. Same with shirts.
3. I am bad at doing laundry quickly, so I ran out of clothes fast.
4. I didn’t make time to take pictures of my outfits. I forgot that on most days I don’t get back to my house until it is dark, and then I have to change my clothes and go to work. And then I don’t really want to put the clothes back on.
5. I am new to blogging, and I just keep forgetting to think about it.
And that’s about it.
So I am going to set a different challenge for myself: for the next week, I will get a post of some sort up EVERY SINGLE DAY. I will try to make them outfit posts, but you might be getting some rambling and “inspiration” photos.

Sweater: Stolen from mom
Red Tank: Thrifted
Jeans: Old Navy
Boots: Rocket dog
Well, today’s outfit wasn’t my favorite; something about the proportions just seems a bit off. That said, the lighting outside was beautiful, and I had friends over, so we had a little photo shoot. It ended…amusingly…

FEBRUARY SECOND, OWNED.
In other news, today I had my 5th appointment to get my driver’s license. I dressed accordingly, but God, or some other higher power (queen of the MVA, perhaps) decided that, yet again, today was not the day that I would be able to get my license–the stupid check engine light just would. not. turn. off. Oh well, there is always…next week?
In more clothes-related talk, I got this sweater on Saturday in one of my best thrift shopping trip in a while. It is the perfect balance of over-sized, chunky, warm and flattering, and I just want to wear it all day, everyday.
Well…tomorrow, I will be showcasing…something. Not really sure what. But something.
So keep your eyes out!

So, for those of you unfamiliar with this idea, a 30×30 (or 28×28) challenge is when you choose thirty items of clothing, and wear only those for an entire month. Because I am going to be doing it during February, I have decided that means two less days, and two less items. I will be posting EVERY DAY this month, so y’all can keep updated with my clothing choices. Because today I changed directly from my pjs to my work clothes, I am just pretending I spent the day naked. So that means no photos.
SO HERE WE GO!
My 28×28 challenge includes:
- Black and white striped skirt
- White, chunky, over-sized sweater
- Floral dress
- Denim Dress
- Lace tunic
- Dark wash skinny jeans
- Dark Green Tee
- Navy Blue Sweater
- Light wash jeans
- Blush colored dress.
- Sage Green Tee
- Military-Inspired grey sweater
- Acid washed denim shirt
- Black Dress
- Long-sleeved black shirt
- Black shawl-neck sweater
- Black Shorts
- Red tank top
- Green Embellished tank
- Red dress
- Black vest
- Green and grey floral print dress
- Black boots
- Black lattice work flats
- Black heels
- Oxfords
- Grey elf booties
- Brown heeled boots
It does not include clothes for my work–I wear a uniform, and black yoga pants don’t really have a place anywhere else in my wardrobe–or any workout clothing. It also does not include my jacket, because I don’t really see it as a part of my ensembles; undershirts, those would be considered underwear; or any accessories, because…I don’t want to have to count those.
It does include clothing for going to schools, working my school’s play, going to multiple shows, and at least one college interview.
So, keep your eyes out for tomorrow’s outfit.

Yesterday, we all went out for a late lunch to celebrate Katie’s birthday. We celebrated, ate lovely vegan food, and had an all around good time.

Sadly, there wasn’t enough light inside, and our ride was persistent on leaving, so I never did get a good picture of my outfit. But I promise you, it was adorable. You can see a teeny part of the dress I was wearing, a great find by my mom. Hopefully, it will have a reprise at some point, and all of y’all can see it.

For years (and I mean YEARS), I have kept a bulletin board full of little mementos–old friendship bracelets, pins, tickets to movies. Today, in an attempt to make my room cleaner and more minimalistic, I emptied it. I threw most of the stuff away, because really, I could not remember why, in fifth grade, I had such an attachment to a giant pin with pictures of gumballs on it.
So I was left with an empty cork board.
I decided to cover it with my jewelry, because my old jewelry storage system led to too many tangled necklaces and forgotten earrings. It was a fun project for a snow day, and, hopefully, it will lead to more use of all my jewelry. I have been wearing the same earrings for two months
So, here are some pictures of my newly rediscovered jewelry.
